Raga Chandra is named after the moon and sung after midnight when the phosphorescent light of the full moon fills the sky. Chandrama, the pale moon god, is seated in a chariot drawn by two black bucks and he is holding two white lilies. In the background is a lake on which two chakvas (ruddy-geese) seperated from each other are waiting for the night to come to a close.
